Have you wanted to try making one of those mandala style designs? We have gotten permission from Frank O’Randle to do a crochet along using one of his designs, Mini BetteRings of Change!
This is a free pattern, using 6 colors of worsted weight yarn. You need between 150 to 160 yds each color and a 6mm crochet hook(a J hook). Total yardage is less than 1,000 and you will end up with a round throw approximately 40” across, a nice size to keep on the couch or use as a round shawl.
I have seen some gorgeous ones made with 1, 2, or 3 colors as well, check out the projects on Ravelry! With 26 color changes, this would also be a good stash buster: colors are used in count down order, color 6 is the center, then down to 1 and repeating in the same order.
If you finish this and wish to keep going, BetteRings of Change is a paid pattern available on Ravelry, the final round of this is equal to round 42 on the larger version.
If you want to purchase yarn for this project, we recommend our Cascade Elysian. It is a machine washable merino and acrylic blend, and with 219 yards per skein, you won’t have to worry about running out.
We have kits in 7 colorways, for $50.00 plus tax. Feel free to join using any yarn you wish, including your yarn stash!
We divided the pattern into 4 sections, and we are doing one each week starting 12/28. This is a great way to learn new stitch combinations, and Tina will be in the shop if you need help.
